The Perennial Poppies Group Inc grew out of a gathering of like-minded folk at Buderim in November 2000 to discuss cottage gardening. The structure of the group today reflects not only the intent of that initial gathering but also its process – people with a serious interest in plants who meet in private gardens for study and discussion.

Cottage gardens are informal and use a wide range of ornamental and edible plants. Cottage gardeners aim to have colour in the garden year round by includng a variety of shrubs and trees as well as native plants. perennials, bulbs, grasses and using annuals to add a splash of colour here and there at various times of the year.
